Whangarei Ministers Short Of Petrol
Whangarei ministers of religion, especially'those with large country parishes, are likely to experience difficulty in regard to petrol supplies foi their motor ears.
This information was gained today, following inquiries. One minister, who has a large parish and a heavy type of car, has already used two-thirds of his petrol allowance of 25 gallons per month.
When the balance of this 's exhausted the minister will have to curtail a portion of his out-of-town work—or obtain more petrol.
Those ministers who do not have a country parish, but whose work is confined fo Whangarei borough and, area, receive a petrol allowance of 15 gallons per month. In the majority of cases the ministers in this category appear as, unless they were called on unexpectedly, this would entail little curtailment of their normal work. One church with an extensive out-of-town parish area to attend to, considers it will, just be able to man-r age for the time being. The new year of activity has not commenced, but when it does there may be some curtailment of activities, even with the use of both coupons and licences.
