Anglo-Transjordan Alliance Signed
’ LONDON, Mon. (10 d.m.)—A Foreign Office spokesman announced that the Anglo-Transjordan Alliance, revising both the old treaty and its military annexes, was signed in Amman today. The terms, agreed to after only one week’s negotiations, will be announced this week. Diplomatic quarters in London feel that there is little risk of local opinion rejecting the new treaty, as happened with the Anglo-Irak Treaty. The new treaty - is believed to provide for future Anglo-Transjordan cooperation through a joint defence board, instead of Britain’s present rights to station troops in Transjordan.
