To Oosry Company Shareholding
WELLINGTON, Sat. (Sp.).—A committee has been set up to report on the necessity of amendments to existing legislation in relation to dry shareholding in dairy companies and the position in regard to articles of association with a view to providing more adequately for the modern operation and administration of dairy companies. A announcement along these lines was made yesterday by the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Cullen). The matters to be reviewed were stated to have caused the industry some concern in recent years. WILL VISIT CENTRES The personnel of the committee is: Mr H. A. Foy, Director of the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture (chairman); Mr C. H. Courtney, secretary of the New Zealand Dairy Board; Mr F. W. Groom, office solicitor to the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy. Co., Ltd., who will represent the dairy industry; and Mr E. C. Adams, district land registrar at Wellington, representing the registrar of companies.
The secretary of the committee is Mr J. E. Marshall of the head office of the Department of Agriculture.
The - committee will visit certain dairying centres later to examine more closely any matters brought under its notice. All others interested are invited to make written submissions.
