BURSARIES
WELLINGTON. post-primary bursaries, which have . been awarded for the first time this year, arc of the annual sum of £7O, plus a lodging allowance of £4O for students Jiving away from home. They are ■awarded for periods of three years, with a possible extension to. four. The bursaries also provide payrfient '•of tuition fees at university classes. These details are contained in the Post-Pri-mary Teachers’ Bursary Regulations, published yesterday. The regulations provide that for each bursar a bond must be taken out and an agreement entered into to ensure that the course is completed and that the bursar serves a term of three years as a post-primary teacher. Sixty-five bursaries were awarded in the first year.—(P.A.)
