Whongarei-Bred Pacer's Success
A pacer bred in Whangarei recently won the Perth Derby at her first start. She is Hilda Grattan, and was bred by Mr W. G. Whitmore, a well-known figure in Northland stock circles. Mr Whitmore sold the filly as a yearling to Mr J. P. Stretton, of Perth, and received news of her victory this week. Hilda Grattan is by Josedale Grattan, out of .Lady Gertrude, and is a full-sister to Village Prince and a halfsister to Lady Volo. Both these pacers were also bred by Mr Whitmore and have been good winners under light harness
