Record acceptances have been received for the opening day of the Ohinemuri Racing Club’s autumn fixture, which will be held at Paeroa tomorrow. Divisions have been arranged for in three events, the smallest field of the day being in the Ohinemuri Cup, one mile and five furlongs, for which Balgowan heads the 11 acceptors. An even field of 19 has paid up for the St Patrick’s Handicap, the open sprint. The favourites may be: 10.45—Hack Hurdles, 1-mile 5 fur.—lst, Div.: Modern View, Sir Bian; 2nd
Div.: Bold Tide, Kathshara. 11.30 Novice Stakes, 6 fur.—lst Div.: Kaitawa, Belcrcon; 2nd Div.: Highland Lad, Forest Ranger. 12.20 Mackaytown Handicap, 6 fur.— High Power, Beaufighter, Jolly Lass. 1.20 Ohinemuri Cup, 1 mile 5 fur.— Balgowan, Regal Praise, Swance. 2.s—Tirohia Handicap, 1£ miles. — Mastfer Ballaler, Dukedom, Hazara. 2.so—McGuire Steeples, about 21 miles. —KHcoinmon, Bold Tide, Our Nation. 3.4 o—St Patrick’s Handicap, G fur.— Bonny Pay, Gwen Vaals, Tiger Tan. 4.30 — Komata Handicap, G fur. —Ist Div.: Beau Reve, Shalinaz; 2nd Div.: Bouquet, Prince Chat. TRENTHAM: Selas and Signal Officer may be well supported for the Autumn Handicap, li miles, major prize at Trentham tomorrow. Morotai and Indian Dawn will also be considered by investors. The Thompson Handicap, 1 mile, should provide keen competition, with investors likely to show preference for Revolte, Mesalliance, Howe and Castlebrae. Deprive, Peter Mar, Fleetwood and Citril may carry most support in the Railway Handicap. ADDINGTON: Emulous is almost certain to be a pronounced favourite for the A.. I. Rattray Handicap, two miles, the principal event at Adding'tor* tomorrow. Highland Fling, Plunder Bar and Dundee Sandy are also likely to be well supported.
