Lift Block Bon On House Building
WANGANUI, Thu. (P.A.)—An announcement was made this morning by the president of the Wanganui branch of the Carpenters’ Union (Mr W. Moore) that the black ban placed on two houses in the city concerning which there was a prosecution and fine inflicted on him in the Magistrate’s Court on March 1, had been lifted by decision of the executive of the branch last night. He said a decision had been made not to proceed with an appeal against the fine.and, in view of this, the executive branch decided that the ban be lifted.
The firm to which the black ban applied had six houses under construction, not 16, as stated at a meeting of the Wanganui RSA last night. (SEE ALSO PAGE 2.)
