Cornwell Cup Wins For Paremata, Christchurch
WELLINGTON, Fri., (Sp.)—Paremata and Christchurch were successful in the two Cornwell Cup races held on the Paremata yesterday in a light north-westerly breeze. . . .
Plimmerton struck a sandbank • and capsized, loosing a man overboard.
Christchurch now has a first and a third in the three races held to date. As the winners must finish first in three races, it will be necessary to sail at least two more races.
The results of yesterday’s races were: Paremata 1, Wellington 2, Otago 3, and in the afternoon, Christchurch 1, Otago 2. New Plymouth 3. The Whangarei crew finished sixth in the afternoon race.
