PAVING
WELLINGTON.—Jarrah paving blocks, laid in Courtenay Place 44 years, ago, , are now being replaced with oitumenous pavement, consolidated by a special spreading and pressing machine. Owing to inability to give the blocks a yearly dressing, of tar during the 1914-18 and 1939-45 ivars, water percolation caused tie “feet” of the blocks to rot. —(Sp.)
