Would you let me know the true position regarding the retrospective payment of 16/6 a week which was granted by the BACK PAY Dairy Commission
and was supposed to be paid to dairy farm workers emnloved between November, 194 G. and August 1. 1947? "JUST A FARM WORKER."
I The new wages scale came into force on August 1, 1947, but the rates are retrospective to November 1, 1946. the date on .vhich the order was deemed to come into force. The Laboui Department stated today that employees to whom retrospective pay was owing should first claim on their employers, and if payment was refused they should then refer the claims to the department, which would collect the amounts for them.—Ed. N.A.]
