Ruawai High And Dry At Rangi Point
The 291-ton steamer Ruawai, on whose master (Captain H. Stanaway) a second detaining order has been issued forbidding him to take the vessel to sea. is now high and dry on a beach at Rangi Point, 12 miles down the Hokianga Harbour from Rawene.
Most of the hull is exposed after the beaching, and it is expected that, a thorough inspection will be made for any damage caused when the vessel scraped the bar at the entrance to the harbour.
