Collection Taken For Waipu—Lang’s Rd

To hasten repairs to the WaipuLang’s Beach Road, residents using it have contributed £454 in three weeks. Mr A. Y. Provan, of Waipu Cove, decided three weeks ago to make a collection from residents of the area to raise money in the repair of the road. His objective is £SOO, which is to be given to Mr A. J. Murdoch, M.P., to take to Wellington, which he will visit on about January 19. Mr Provan collected from the Waipu Post Office to Lang’s Beach and received the £454 from 60 people in that area.

People gave very willingly, he said. One man gave £ 10, and another, in Waipu itself, £2O. When Mr Murdoch goes to Wellington he will take the money and a petition from the contributors with him. and it is Mr Provan’s hope that something beneficial will result.
