Three Clubs Enter Pairs Semi-Finals

Semi-finalists in the Kensington < Bowling Club's annual pairs lourna- j ment which concluded today were: J. Roberts and Fleming (Kensington),] Garland and Lowe (Kensington), Sis-: suns and Dingle tWhangarei), and i Peterson and Finlayson (DargavilleL Twelve of the 4$ teams qualified in the sectional play yesterday. Cnlv two went through the live rounds without loss. They were Peterson and Finlayson, and Reed and Kerr (Kensington). Finlayson ousted Kerr in the quar-ter-finals this morning. The other qualifiers, all with four wins, were:— J. Donnelly and Fleming drew the byes for the first round of post-sectional play this morning. Results were: Gcorgeson 19, Calder 8: Dingle 17. McDonald 3; Finlay 13, Cribble 10; Lcwe 21. Hales 7. The quarter-finals resulted; Dingle 16, Finlay 9; Fleming 16, Georgeson 5; Lowe 18, Donnelly 6; Finlayson 19, Kerr 12. BEST GAME The most interesting game was that between Finlayson and Kerr. The Dargaville pair led 11 —1 on the fifth head, but Kerr drew level at 11 —11 on the 10th. Finlayson was ahead 13—12 on the 12th. and collected another two on the 13th. The issue was sealed on the 14th when Kerr held the shot and Finlayson played a very lucky drive to be three-up and go into a lead ol six with only one head remaining.
