SYDNEY, Wed. (It a.nu-An experiment in hypnosis by radio over a commercial station brought an extraordin- j ary response from listeners. Immediately the broadcast was over two girl telephonists were swamped j with over (100 calls. One woman reported tearfully that her husband was still "out” and that J she could not get him to speak to her. ; When told that she should slap him ; gently, but firmly, in the face, she re- I plied: I “Thanks, I will start slapping now.’ ! A'n irate woman said her husband j was unconscious, but that she did not j know whether lie was hypnotised oi i "knocked out,” because while he was j relaxing during the broadcast his four- ; year-old son had dropped a toy engine j on his head. j In the studio all but two of the audi- ; ence appeared to fall asleep within two ! minutes of the commencement of the j sonorous flow of words by the nypno- : tist.
