100-Yr-old Clofe For Europeans

DUNEDIN, Tue. (P.A..) Clothes from depots established on Snares Islands, 70 miles south of Stewai't /Island, more than 100 years ago. will go to Europe to aid in clothing homeless people, said Dr R. C. Murphy, of the American Museum of Natural History today. The clothing had been brought back by Dr R. A. Falla, director of the Dominion Museum, on instructions from the Government. The clothing had been stored in trunks lined with tin, and was in good condition.

The garments were typical of the limes in which they had been left at Snares. The jackets buttoned up to the neck and were cut away to show as much of the waistcoat as possible, while the trousers were skin-tight.

They might not be up to the minute in style, said Dr Murphy, but - their condition was excellent. At least they would keep someone warm, even if they did provide a laugh for those who saw them.
