PAKISTAN PREPARING
LONDON, Mon. <1 p.m.).—Pakistan troops are gathering to resist possible Indian Army incursions, says the Daily Telegraph’s Lahore correspondent.
Several thousand reinforcements are being rushed to the Sialkot area on the Kashmir border. Rebel Kashmir forces have completely besieged Jammu and cut the Jamrnu-India road which was recently constructed to supply Indian forces with food and ammunition, according to reports reaching Pakistan Government intelligence, says the Karachi correspondent of the Associated Press.
One official said Kashmir forces surrounded one Indian division in the last two days in the Jammu area. The only supplies the Indians received were dropped by air. TENSION IN LAHORE Something approaching eve-of-war tension prevails in Lahore (Pakistan), says the Daily Telegraph’s correspondent there. The Indian Government’s statement in its memorandum to the United Nations. that it might “be compelled in self-defence to enter Pakistan territory to take miliary action against the invaders of Kashmir," is regarded in a most serious light. That statement, combined with the assertion by tire Prime Minister of Pakistan (Liaquat Ali Khan) that "India is out to destroy Pakistan” has produced an atmosphere more electric than any experienced during the past five months. zz-isseimri-*
