Miners Just Missed Target
LONDON, Mon. (10 a.m.)— Britain’s coal output for 53 weeks ended January 3 was 190,700,000 tons, compared with the target of 200,000,000. Output for the week ended January 3’was 3,100,000 tons. The Minister of Fuel (Mr Gaitskell) said: "There will be some disappointment, but we reached 99.8 per cent of the target. "Anything like this seemed out of range a few months ago. “It has been a great finish.”
