Year's Rainfall Above Average
The recent heavy fall of rain has brought the annual total well above the average fall for Whangarei. The yearly average taken over a period of 33 years is G3.80in., and the fall to date is 67.6 Gin.
The fall for the year is well below the record which stands at 84.08 in.. the figure recorded in 1937. In 1913. the record dry year. 40in. of rain fell in Whangarei.
