Northland Honey Prospects Good
Northland beekeepers consider pects are bright for a successful 194748 honey season, but they state it is yet too early to make any estimates of likely porduction. The season commenced well, with leatree flowering profusely, and early yields were higher than usual. Favourable weather conditions resulted in good growth among the clovers. particularly lotus major, and the early season indicated that pohutukawa honey would soon be available. During the past week, wet and changeable weather had adversely affected honey production, but it was considered that the rain would ultimately bring beneficial results.
