Charged with having been found illegally and at night, without intent to commit a crime—in premises at the Maungaturoto railway station, a young half-caste Maori, who appeared yesterday afternoon in the Maungaturoto Magistrate’s Court before Messrs W. J. Dell and C. W. Foote. J.P.s, was fined £lO. The evidence showed that the of-, fence had been committed by the accused through his over-indulgence in liquor. Taking into account his previous good character, an order was made for the suppression of his name
N. W. PAYOUTS The payouts of the two dairy companies in Northern Wairoa reached a record for October. The two companies have paid out £137,309 to their suppliers. The Northern Wairoa Cooperative Dairy Co., Ltd., made a total payout of £92,800. In the same month last year when Northland was affected by the aftermath of a drought, the amount distributed by this company was £63,371. The Ruawai Cooperative Dairy Company, Ltd., has distributed £44,509.
