HIGH TEMPERATURES
The temperature in the shade in Whangarei yesterday afternoon reached high figures. Shortly after 2.30 pm a thermometer in a Water Street office reached 82 degrees, but it was cooler out of doors. Towards evening the temperature dropped quickly. By 8 o’clock this morning it had climbed again and the reading of 63 degrees was the highest at this hour so far recorded since the end of winter.
