Churchill Moved By Brighton Reception

(Rec. U a.m.) LONDON, October 3. Mr Churchill, after being mobbed by enthusiastic crowds in the streets, received the Freedom of Brighton, where he will address the Conservative Party conference on October 4. Mr Churchill, acknowledging the honour, said he believed “we shall succeed, after a period of heaitsearching, in bringing our country back again to a fair enjoyment of the great inheritance we won, and widen we hoped we had won for all the world.” But Britain needed all her endurance, social discipline and initiative to escape her difficulties. Mr Churchill stood with tears in his eyes as the gathering cheered him and gang “For He’s A Jolly Good Fellow,” and' shouted “Good Old Winnie!”
