Major Farran Vanishes Again
(Rec. 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 3. Defence counsel, the prosecutor and the judge advocate in the Major Farran case arrived at London airport from Lydda today. Major Farran is due to arrive by air tomorrow. Reuters Jerusalem correspondent says Major Farran’s movements since his acquittal are a mystery. People watching from the courtroom saw him enter an armoured car which joined the middle of a convoy of jeeps mounting machine-guns and other armoured cars. The convoy immediately moved off. Troops and police deny knowledge of Major Farran’s whereabouts. Civilians say the convoy headed north from Jerusalem and it is presumed that Major Farran was flown from the RAF airport seven miles from the city out of Palestine. There was a demonstration in court, applauding his acquittal.
