C. Peek Wins N.Z. Amateur Title
BILLIARDS
(Special.) AUCKLAND, This Day. C. Peek, of Wellington, won the 1947 New Zealand amateur billiards championship at Auckland on Saturday, defeating J. J. Shepherd, Auckland, by 15C0 points to 1317. The final was played in two sessions of 750. Shepherd had a bad run in the first session, being 230 points behind at the 750 mark. He improved in the evening and his chances looked better when he reduced the leeway to 100, following an excellent break of 95.
