Can Curtail Imports In Great Emergency
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) GENEVA, June 13. The International Trade Organisation Conference agreed in principle on the exchange rate which would apply to tariff schedules in countries having two exchange rates.
M. le Carte said the conference agreed on a provision that a member could curtail imports of particular products in an emergency, with the reservation that danger to domestic industries must be “real, imminent and serious."
