WHY THERE WILL BE NO WAR
(1.15 p.m.) BERLIN, June 13. A Russian spokesman on the Russian-controlled Berlin radio, warned Germans not to believe rumours which were widespread in Germany about impending war between Russia and America. He added that war was not imminent, because — (1) British, American and Russian mothers who had suffered so much would not tolerate another. (2) No Government could force the people into war against their will. (3) “Progressive forces in all countries have the support of Russia, without whom no international decisions can be reached.”
