Coal Position At Portland Acute
So acute is the coal position at Wilsons (N..Z) Portland Cement Works that this week only two kilns have been on operation. The manager (Mr F. Leese) described the coal supplies as quite seri • ous.
A ship loaded with South Island coal, is expected to berth at Portland tomorrow.
If this supply arrives on time, it will enable three kilns to be used for a short period.
