India Suspends Silver Licences
(Rec. noon) LONDON. Mar. 7. Official and unofficial quarters accept as true private reports that the Government of nriia is suspending licences for imports of bullion, says Reuter’s financial editor.
This has an important bearing on silver markets. The London market has done no business for export since the first reports were received yesterday. India’s action is believed to be the result of profits which Belgians. Dutch and others are making by buying bullion in dollars from New York and reselling it to India for sterling.
