Thinks S. Island Will Lose Two Seats
(P.A.) INVERCARGILL. This Day. The South Island would lose two seats to the North Island as a result of the Electoral Amendment Act, said Mr. T. L. Macdonald, M.P. for Mataura, yesterday. ' He also thought that the redistribution of seats in the South Island would result in Christchurch and Dunedin getting one more seat each.
That would make four fewer country seats in the South Island. He thought that altogether from seven to ten country seats would be transferred ’to the cities.
