Siam’s Commitment To Mountbatten
NEW YORK, January 2,
The Siamese Government committed itself in correspondence with Admiral Mountbatten to sign an agreement with him on certain matters not covered in the British conditions marking the termination of hostilities. The “New York Herald Tribune’s” correspondent comments that this agreement is entirely separate from the British-Siamese terms, which the United States Government considers too harsh.
It is believed the agreement deals with the blocking of Japanese assets, war criminals and other matters pertaining to the liquidation of the Japanese war effort. „
