More Inquiries About Hokianga Medical Scheme

(Special.) RAWENE, This Day. Further inquiries, both overseas and within New Zealand, have been received in Rawene concerning details of the special area medical service operating in Hokianga,. Once more, as a sequel to a precis published in Canada of an article in the “Northern Advocate,” an inquiry was made by Captain C. G. Sheps; director of the Department of Public Health in the Government of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Writing from the provincial capital, Regina, Captain Sheps asked for further and more explicit information. Printed literature and an explanatory letter were sent him.

The Wairarapa Hospital Board wrote stating that it had set up a sub-com-mittee to go into the Hokianga system to see if it could be applied to the district. Many detailed questions were asked in the letter and' more information on the scheme was requested. Again, printed literature and a covering letter were sent. Another recent inquiry came from Mr Harry Baulf, organiser of the Auckland Citizens’ and Ratepayers’ Association, to whom six copies of the pamphlet “Plans, Plots and Appraisals” wei’e sent. Mr Baulf said he had been present in Kaikohe when the Parliamentary Select Committee had held its public hearing of evidence last March.
