Mrs. J. Allan
OBITUARY
The death has occurred at her home at Mareretu, of Mrs John Allan, at the age of 68, Bom *at Darwin Har bour, Falkland Islands, Mrs Allan was the eldest daughter .of the late Mr J. Phillips. She married Mr John Allan, of Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1896, and three years later went'with him to Patagonia where they lived for 40 ydars sheepfarming. With her hus band and family Mrs Allan came to New Zealand in 1936 settling in Mareretu. She is survived by her husband five sons and four daughters. There are three grandchildren.
“World of Plenty” The British Ministry of Information documentary film, “World of Plenty,” is to be screened at Maungatapere on Tuesday evening at the annual meeting of the calf pool in that area. The subject of the film is food and its position in world strategy, and it provides probably the ideal medium for giving people the background Of understanding as to the responsibilities which New Zealand has assumed under the Unrra programme.
