Allied Control Members Ready To Move In
LONDON. May 6. Four thousand members of die Central Allied Control Commission arc standing by ready to move in to govern Germany writes Reuter’s military correspondent Following the German surrender. Allied Military Government will operate for three months, during which the Allied troops will be regrouped according lo the agreed zones of occupation. The Control Commission will then take over.
There is a possibility that the Commission will have to establish its headquarters at a more convenient centre than Eerlin in view of the damage that the capital has suffered. Leipzig and Magde-. burg have been mentioned. It is officially announced that General Eisenhower will be the American representative on the Commission. The British representative has not yet been named Reuter’s adds that it is believed that the representative will be either Field Marshal Montgomery or Field-Marshal Alexander, probably the latter in view of his ability to speak Russian. American experts are about to go to Germany to make an economic survey for the return of German loot lo its rightful owners. ,
