Work of Firemen Speaking of the work of the brigade Mr Macdonald said: “If ever there is a labour of love in any community if. is the work of the members of a voluntary lire brigade such as Whangarei. “Firemen take risks in all conditions and in all weather, and they do so as an ordinary matter of duty and without any complaint. Whenever the community of Whangarei are asked to put their hands in their pockets on their behalf put them down deep," he concluded.
