About 250 wives of Australian soldiers, sailors and airmen who married abroad are still in Britain and the Middle East, waiting io be repatriated to Australia. 6cme wives of servicemen have already arrived here. While the Federal Government is stated to be desirous of postponing repatriation until after the war because of the difficulty in securing safe passage, the Army authorities are said to be anxious that, the wives should be repatriated without delay.
About 2CO of these wives, some of whom have children, are in England.
