Kaikohe Town Board
The necessity of having portion of the Mangamuka stream cleared of obstruction was pointed out by Cmr. E. Morfette at a meeting of the Kaikohe Town Board. It was agreed that owners of the land affected be contacted to see if they will contribute towards the cost of having the work done under the board’s supervision. As the result of a complaint from Mrs. V. F. Cracknel!, Cmr. S. J. Robinson is to take steps to prevent an obstruction to the access of her dwelling caused by the water main.
A letter was received from the Kaikohe Businessmen’s Association asking if stray dogs, which have become a nuisance in the township, could be destroyed. The matter is to receive further consideration. It was resolved, on the motion of Cmr. Robinson, seconded by Cmr. E. Morfette, that the board agrees to increase its halfshare of the cost of carting surplus soil from the hospital site to the recreation ground from £4 to £6 conditional to the other half-share being furnished bv the A. and P. Association.
Cmr. Robinson was aDpointed as the board’s representative to the Kaikohe Patriotic Committee.
