Eleven members of ihe Whangaroa Patriotic Committee were present at I ticmeeting held on Monday nighi in the council chambers,. After considerable discussion, the motion passed on October 30. slopping raffles at Patriotic dances, was rescinded, and it was decided by resolution to leave the matter of raffles in the hands of conveners and sub-committees.
Mrs. John Bramley resigned her position as convener of the dance committee but was persuaded by the chairman and other members ro carry on for the duration. Under her leadership, the dance committee have raised nearly £SOO for Patriotic purposes in 1942. The committee decided to start a drive for waste rubber. The county yard, and every school in the county are to be depots. Every supplier to the factory has been sent a circular letter, and already there has been a splendid response.
