OBITUARY
Mr. G. J. Masson
The death has occurred at Te Kopufu of Mr. G. J. Masson, fourth son of the late Mr. D. B. Masson, Paparoa. He was 60 years of age. Born in Scotland, Mr. Masson came to New Zealand as a child. He was educated at Paparoa and spent his youth there. Volunteering for service in the Boer War, Mr. Masson was wounded and returned home disabled. Subsequently he purchased property at Matarohi, and was also engaged in droving and stock dealing. Mr. Masson was unmarried.. There was a large attendance at the interment, at which the Rev. M. L. A. Bull officiated. Three brothers, Messrs. James Masson (New Lynn), David Masson (Herne Bay) and William Masson (Auckland), and a sister, Mrs A. M. Jervis (Ohope, Tauranga), are still living.
