Auckland’s Total 106 Yesterday
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”l AUCKLAND, This Day. Recruits signed up in Auckland up till 9 p.m. last night totalled 106—the largest total for one day for a considerable time. Men are coming' forward in large numbers and there is every indication that a strong nucleus is already formed for the Fourth Reinforcement, first of the reinforcement drafts to enter camp as a unit of its own. Previously reinforcements have been attached to. the different echelons. That men are realising to the full the gravity of the situation is shown by the fact that 69 offered their services on Friday, a further 82 on Saturday, making a total for the period with today’s numbers, of over 250.
