Peace Pledge Union Heads Summoned
(Received 1 p.m.) x LONDON, May 9. Six leading members of the Peace Pledge Union, including Alexander Wood. M.A. (Cantab), D.S.C. (Glasgow). a lecturer at Cambridge University. were summoned to Bow Street for alleged breaches of the defence regulations. The Attorney-General (Sir D. Somervell) declared that the prosecution was based on a poster issued by the Defence Pledge Union inciting men to l’efuse to fight. The hearing was adjourned till May 23.
