Detectives Probe Thoroughbred Foal’s Mystery Death

[Per Press Association. Copyright] ri AUCKLAND, This Day. The mysterious death of a three-months-old thoroughbred foal and the serious condition of the brood-mare Wee Pat, both owned by the Onehunga sportsman,. Mr A. Kemp, is being investigated by detectives. Some days ago a filly foal' by an imported horse, Dink, was found to be ill at the Kemp home. Burning by Acid? The filly died and was buried on Saturday morning. Later Wee Pat was found to be in a bad way, her mouth showing signs which it is thought might be due to burning by acid. Both the mare and her foal had been feeding from the same bin, and it is thought possible that some miscreant had interfered with feed in the bin and added acid. Still in Bad Way. Wee Pat is still in a bad way, but is receiving veterinary attention from Dr. Ring. Wee Pat was the surprise winner of the Great Northern Hurdles at Ellerslie in 1934. She fs by Kilbroney out of a mare by Morriwee, and is nine years old.
