WEDDINGS
A wedding of local interest took place at the home of Mrs H. McDonald, Whangaruru south, on Saturday, November 25, between Thelma, second daughter of Mr and the late Mrs Fraser, of Hamilton, and John Thomas, elder son of Mrs and the late Mr H. McDonald. The officiating minister was the Rev. Brierly, of Hikurangi. The bride was smartly attired in a frock of royal blue with clover accessories and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and love-in-the-r is*. The guests were received by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a frock of black matalasse. Her bouquet was of autumn tinted antirrhinums. Assisting her was the bride’s aunt, Miss D. Peterson who was dressed in a green ensemble. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the dining room to partake of a dainty wedding breakfast. Among those present were: Mr and Mrs H. B. Sloane, Mr and Mrs McKegg, Mr and Mrs Hirst, Mrs. Scarborough, Rev. Brierly; Misses Cooper, G. Scarborough, Millet, M. Sloane, Q. and M. Carpenter, M. Armstrong, J. Reid, N. Smith and G. Hoey; Messrs J. Scarborough, R. Cooper and R. Sloane.
