Induction Ceremony At Kauri Church
Representatives of Hikurangi, Kamo and Matarau attended the Kauri Church on Wednesday evening for the ordination and induction of the Rev. D. R. Allan, conducted by members of the North Auckland Presbytery. After the service Mr and Mrs Allan were welcomed and the Rev. C. Elderly farewelled, speakers being Mr W, G. Johnson, of Kamo (on behalf of the Session). Mrs C. W. Rushbrook, of Matarau (Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union), Mr H. Liplon, of Hikurangi (Youth activities), and the Revs. H. W. Heaslip and Tolley (sister churches).
In addition other speakers referred to the fine work done by Mr Briefly.
Representing the Session, Mr A. C. Galnin presented Mr Brierly with a well-filled wallet from the congregation.
In thanking the people for their gift Mr Brierly referred to the sympathy extended to him at the time of his sorrow and to his term at Kaurihohore.
Musical items were given. ,and supper was served.
