Among Australian securities, Broken Hill Proprietaries were quoted a little lower, between 68/3 and 69/3, but Colonial Sugars and Electrolytic Zincs (prefs.) showed further improvement, the latter issue lying between 57/6 and 58/9. Bank and insurance shares were firm, and Government stock steady. Bank of New Zealands looked steady, with buyers at 38/9 and no sellers in sight.
