S. Canterbury Hunt Club Weights Declared

The following handicaps have been declared for the South Canterbury Hunt Club’s meeting, to be held at Timaru on July 22:

Shipped to Dominion. The Randwick trainer, W. Bourke, shipped the imported mare Tantalizer to New Zealand last week, and she is to be mated with Phaleron Bay.

Doubtful Starter

Dividend, whose win on the first day of the Dunedin meeting last month made him look a smart hurdler, had the misfortune to injure one of his heels through over-reaching when on that trip. The injury is mending slowly, but, though he is getting through useful tasks, his chance of racing at the Grand National meeting docs not look bright.

Royal Message Fit. A hack that will be ready to take on all-comers at the Pakuranga meeting a few weeks hence is Royal Message, and she will lack nothing on the score of fitness. This filly was placed on several occasions prior to winning her first race at Whangarei in the auiumn. but since then she has not found, the path too easy when taking on good hacks. She has a lot of pace, and, with early racing condition, she should be able to give a good account of herself at her next appearance.
