Back in Work. Vascones is back in work at Awapuni. after a two-months’ spell.

In Again. The placed horses in last year's Winter Cup, Catalogue, Waitaka, and Alma, are again in the field this year.

Change of Quarters. Armacourt, who was formerly trained by S. M. August, is now a member of E. George's team at Ellerslic. Will Do Belter. Hanover looks well after his Trentham racing, and the improvement in his jumping suggests ho might be worth keeping in mind for future events.

Good Prospect. The race Catalogue had at Trentham has done him much good, and if all goes well in the interim he must be given a chance of winning his third Winter Cup.

Working Well. Night Dress, who has an engagement in the Winter Cup. has not raced since May, but he is again getting through strong work at Riccarton, and F. A. Roberts should have him at his best next month.

Fatally Injured. The stallion Captain Bunsby had to be destroyed as the result of injuries received while being loaded at Trentham for return by train to his owner, Mr J. G. Alexander, of Maxwell. The horse broke his off hind leg so badly that it was impossible to save him. Captain Bunsby sired two of the leading flat winners at the Wellington meeting last week—Jack Tar and Ned Cuttle.

To Race in Australia,

The Duke of Kent will participate in horse racing as an owner while Gov-ernor-General of Australia, running, among others, the three-year-old Dhoti, whom he purchased from H.H. Aga Khan. Dhoti is a three-year-old chestnut colt by Dastur from Tricky Aunt, and last season won at each of his three starts. In his first three starts this season he was unplaced.
