Hokianga Club Loses To Kohukohu
During the week-end the Kohukohu Club visited the Hokianga Club at Mangamuka and played the first shield match of the season. The day was perfect and Kohukohu won by 9i games to si, after an enjoyable day. Results, with Kohukohu players
mentioned first, were: — Men’s Foursomes. —Bowler and Lane v. Crallan and Baker, 1 up; Yarborough and Farrell v. Robertson and Julian, 5 and 3; Clapham and Molloy v. Woolford and Newton, 5 and 3. Ladies’ Foursomes. —Mrs Molloy and Mrs Stoddart v. Mrs Newton and Mrs Smith, 2 up; Mi’s Clapham and Mrs Ashworth v. Mrs Julian and Mrs Baker, 4 and 3. Men’s Singles.—Bowler v. Crallan, 4 and 2; Lane v. Baker, 2 and 1; Yarborough v. Robertson, fi and 3 down; Molloy v. Woolford, all square; Clapham v. Newton, 5 and 3 down; Fari'ell v. Julian, lost by default. Arrangements were made for a visit from a professional.
