Ti’oops were already 12 miles in side Czech frontiers when he began the conference with Herr Hitler.
Germans have taken over the Skoda munition works. They are examining foreign contracts and cancelling those undesirable.
Germany Takes 2000 War ’Planes,
It is estimated that at least 2000 modern military 'planes will be gained by Germany, including a number of Russian fighters and bombers and hundreds of tanks. The total equipment annexed will give the Reich a great advantage over other Powers. |
Heniein in the Forefront.
Herr Henlein. Sudeten leader, has been appointed civil administrator with the German armies, with Prague as his headquarters. An official statement says German troops occupied the Slovak towns of Sillein, Neustadt and Boesing'after M. Ducansky, .Slovak Foreign Minister, had appealed for help. It is reported that Polish troops entered Slovakia.
Germans entered Bratislava, Slovakia, at 5.45 p.m., after unexpected opposition at Boesing and Ratzerdorf. At Prague, Germans occupied Dr. Hocha’s Presidential castle.
Curfew was ordered in the city at 8 p.m., to avoid risk of disturbances in the present mood of the Czechs.
Bratislava banks closed for three days to allow affairs to settle down. Dr. Tifo, Slovak Premier, called up five classes of the Hlinka Guard to protect the Slovene frontier. German troops occupied Brunn, Moravian capital, and the fortress town of Olmuetz (alternatively Olomouc).
