Franco’s Drastic Purging Policy
LONDON. March 15.
Elaborate details of a purge of public officials in the ‘‘liberated” sections of Spain are published by the National Ministry of the Interior, says the Burgos correspondent m “The Times."
All concerned in urban, rural or other administrations, within eight days of the occupation of former Republican territories, must answer a questionnaire stating in detail the
attitude they adopted toward the Republican regime, also their affiliations (o political parties and to Free* masonry.
The officials must produce '• it nesses and documents in proof of their declaration.
Penalties will be imposed for sins of omission and commission which indicate an anti-patriotic attitude among those who could have co-operated with the Nationalist movement, but did not do so.
