Sabotage Report Denied
In connection with the report of the deputation which waited upon the Hon. R. giemple in connection with Mcßreen’s Road, the following telegrams, which speak for themselves, have been transmitted:

As the engineer Solely responsible for the work, ■ I resent imputation, and ask lor interview in, regard to this matter before you leave the district. , (Sgd.) Charges of wilful waste of ~ public money were made in the presence of the press by a deputation of your ratepayers. The charges were of a serious nature, .and I replied that if the charges were true it looked like sabotage, and that I would have . the matter thoroughly investigated.
